I am in the process of building a ram pump the help reduce the demand on my well system and was thinking that if I took the spring out of a brass foot valve and put it on the pickup end of the drive pipe that it would work as a check valve without restricting the flow. Any comments or advice on this would be helpful thanks
A 1970’s book called “Producing your own Power” Has diagrams for building ram pumps. I’d like to learn a bit more about check valves myself. I have some diagrams for some simple ones in my article Home Water Production
