I am researching ways to treat water around the homestead.
Filtration
Purification
Flocculation (oddly a flocculant I heard about was cement powder)
Sedimentation
Distillation
Condensation
Corrosion Control (PH)
Water softening
Prophylaxis (fluoride)
I’m working on this for an article to go with my water production(procurement) article.
This is no small topic. Would anyone recommend any books? right now I’m reading wikipedia, and on army FM.
It seems activated charcoal or carbon filters and sand filtration is well known. Ceramics are well known and get the finest filtering. Ceramics laced with Silver are antibacterial as well. Chlorine and Iodine are well known purification chemicals.
We use the Berkey Light, it’s been great for us.
