I have designed and been using a water heater off-grid for over 4 years. The original worked great for the past 4 years but the new and improved model is even better. I will post some pictures and try and answer all questions for any and all who want to build one. I can’t seem to upload pictures so ask me a question and send an e mail that i can send you pictures and instructions on the building of it.
Canuck111, send me the pictures and I’ll upload them for you…

Hello,
I recommend a tankless LPG water heater !
I use one with a DC fresh water pump. The ignition is also DC powered from the battery bank. Some are using 2 D size batteries. Very simple !
This is how they work.

several years ago i built a woodfired water heater from 2 used hotwater tanks
it outperformed every gas or electric heater ive ever had
when i finally manage to go back totally off-grid, ill build a new one and use it
