    @ Green village lighting; how about talking about carbon foot prints. You picked the thread subject. As one of my buddies says ” in that case take off your boots at the door” <smile>

    This is a discussion forum about living off grid not a free advertising space.

    Since you are based in Bellingham you already know a lot of the PNW west coast uses hydro-electric power which doesn’t have much carbon foot print to begin with. Most off-grid people heat with wood. Even the experts in such things agree wood heating is carbon neutral. Off-grid people living far enough south use solar panels which by some accounts is carbon free. Lets for the moment skip the discussion of the carbon foot print of electronics manufacturing and the fabrication of solar panels. So where is there opportunity to reduce our carbon footprint when living off grid?
