I wonder what others did when they have leftover food?

Personally I often cook with the purpose of having leftover food to incorporate into another meal, for example, I’ll make a 6 quart pressure cooker (half full) of homemade chicken soup, it’s always enough for at least 2-3 meals, the first night it’s soup, the second night it’s chicken and dumplings.

Yesterday, I had about half a bag of potatoes that weren’t going to stay good much longer, so I cooked the entire batch in my pressure cooker, hubby had “baked” potatoes that night for dinner, I still have a 1 gallon zip baggie full of cooked potatoes that will go into another meal.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind when you asked the question, if it’s not, please elaborate.

    lol, what are leftovers?

Yeah, glad to see you here beast! :)

I don’t have mostly leftover food. But if it is left over, I will make a new recipe for it the next day.

I too cook with the intention to have leftovers. I make a large meal of meat and vegetables on a Sunday and use the leftovers to create new meals. I can do all sorts with these leftovers as I keep the original meal as simple as possible. I do pasta bakes, soups, stirfries, and I even use the meat for sandwich filling. I hate waste so I use absolutely everything. A chicken carcass makes a great stock base!
