European Off-Grid technology ?

Hi, I am spending two months in Bavaria and would love to visit homes in the area and/or companies that produce off-grid living products, especially technology. We all know Germany leads in solar and while solar is interesting, my focus is more on water, waste, and other infrastructure rather than solar.

Things like composting toilets, water recycling, creative architecture, Alps style off-grid living etc. If you have a place, have a company or suggestion for something I can visit – please let me know.

I am working on starting a company selling off-grid infrastructure in Northern, California. So good products are of interest as well as best practices.
