I’m trying to find something to do for a 10 year old in the evenings. He watches the tablet a lot of the time. I want to distract him from this occupation. What alternative activities can be offered to him?

You are to blame for allowing you to watch the gadget without control. You should limit browsing to an hour a day. The child will occupy himself with other things. Let him draw, assemble constructors, put experiments under your supervision, make a diamond mosaic. There are a lot of options. I bought such a device as a home planetarium. This is not just another toy. It helps the child to learn a lot about space and planets. The disc came with one. Additional disks had to be bought. I ordered homestar classic discs here https://astronomix.info/planetarium-discs.html
